Electronics Policy

 This policy applies to students and parents.

SREC discourages student bringing cell phones or other electronic devices on campus. Keeping the office apprised of any calls home will help facilitate communication and supply the tools to answer questions that may arise. In the event of an emergency, parents/guardians and students are to use the school phone in the office. Parents/Guardians may call the office (707-547-2480) to relay emergency information.
·         Students are not to call their parents/guardians directly during the school day. The office will contact their parents/guardians if the student is ill or has another emergency need.
 

STUDENTS and ADULTS CARRY CELL PHONES and ELECTRONIC DEVICES AT THEIR OWN RISK. THE SANTA ROSA EDUCATION COOPERATIVE is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED ELECTRONICS.

 

Cell Phones and electronic devices must not disrupt educational or school activities.

·         Students may not call or receive calls on their cell phones during school or Children’s Center hours.

·         Students may not use cell phones or any other electronic devices during the school or Children’s Center day.

·         Cell phones and other electronic devices may not be used for placing or receiving calls, music, texting, photography, or any other purpose.

·         Cell phones must be turned off, not just on vibrate, and stored off person, in lockers or desk, during school or Children’s Center hours.

 

Use of cell phones or other electronic devices while at school or Children’s Center day IS PROHIBITED.

 

The purpose of Parent Participation is to meet the needs of students.

·         Parents may not use phones while in classrooms and during scheduled participation.

 

 

Students who violate the electronics and cell phone policy will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

·                  1st offense will result in confiscation of the phone or device. These items will be available for parent pick-up in the office.

·                  2nd offense will result in confiscation of phone or device and suspension for defiance of authority. Parents will need to schedule a meeting prior to the student’s return to school.
