We've started using the Scratch programming languge. It's online and can be accessed from home at http://scratch.mit.edu/.
Our current challenge is to create a maze game: The main sprite (main character) is controlled by the arrow keys. If he touches the walls of the maze he has to start over.
If he reaches the goal at the end of the maze, he wins.
Added challenge: created a bad-guy sprite that will slowly follow the main sprite. If it touches the main sprite, then you lose.
You can add sounds, pictures, animation or other bonuses.
Attached are examples of how to write the program (you don't have to follow it exactly).
