Help Wanted

Visual Display
Ms. Catherine is looking for someone with an eye for visual design and "scrapbooking skills" to create some bulletin board displays about Positive Discipline.  Please contact Ms. Catherine at catherinem@srecschool.org, or see her in the Early Learners classroom if you can help.

New Committee Category Added
We have added a new committee category for people who help out in the Charter School office.  These people help with clerical tasks, organizing donated office supplies, help with the telephone answering and other general office support.  Contact Pamela Van Halsema if you are interested in helping out in this way in either a regular or 'on-call' basis.  pvanhalsema@yahoo.com

Classroom Rosters

Hello SREC Community,

Participation is off to an amazing start this year, thank you! I wanted to ask you to please take a moment to let your classroom parent know how you are supporting our community and your child's education. Do you work in the classroom? Are you on a committee? Have you helped clean the bathrooms? Did you collect Escrip receipts outside of Safeway? We want to know! Please let them know how you are fulfilling your volunteer obligation and we will be putting that info on classroom rosters. Thank you so much for all you do!

eScrip earnings results and volunteers still needed

Hi Everyone.

eScrip redemption is in full swing now. Our first round of volunteers raised $498.00 dollars this past weekend collecting receipts for our school. Please collect receipts every time you visit your local Safeway, ask your friends and neighbors to do the same.  Then just bring your receipts to school and drop them in the big purple tube that will be in the front office by Tuesday.  I will have more info Monday at the curriculum meeting.

Here is the schedule with the remaining open dates.  These dates are based on store availability, basically I took what I could get.  If you are available to collect receipts at a different time please let me know because I will make arrangements to get you a spot in front of a Safeway.   Volunteers that sign up for a later shift that would be willing to break down the table and brochures and bring them to school would be greatly appreciated.  I can also arrange to pick them up from you directly.  Just let me know.  You can choose a date from this list and email me or you can sign up in the front office.

Monday Night Meeting Tonight - Curriculum and Committees Featured!

Don't miss the Monday Night Curriculum Meeting TONIGHT! Sept 26th
First, all parents meet in classrooms to get the latest classroom updates from teachers. Then, for the business meeting we will gather in the cafeteria to be introduced to our committees and sit down at project tables to work on plans for this year. This will be a key meeting regarding participation both inside and outside the classroom, so we are hoping as many parents as possible can attend (even two per household, although only one per family is mandatory per the school agreement)
Looking forward to meeting you all there!
